Today the guys are back at it to talk about the doctrine of Solus Christus (Christ Alone). The important takeaways from this episode are the following:
God--who is perfectly holy--has provided one way for humanity to be made holy and commune with him, and that is through Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
Anyone who repents and believes the gospel will be saved (Mark 1:15).
Although works are a necessary evidence of genuine faith, those works do not save us.
Though there are hundreds of world religions, there is only one true way to God (John 14:6). Otherwise, if there were other ways to God, then what God did to his Son on the cross was anything but loving.
This doctrine should lead us into greater fervency to share the gospel with others.
It should also cause us to love the gospel more, because left to ourselves, we would live and die separated eternally from God. But instead, he has sent Christ into the world for us.
Knowing that we are saved by Christ alone rather than by any other means, that should stir in us a heightened sense of gratitude and love towards God.
